Elder Community Service – Service Programs

SENIORS

My name is Brian Cleary and I’m a senior at Elder High School. I have an older brother Matthew, who graduated from Elder. I played soccer in the past, play hockey, and run track for elder. I am a student Ambassador, member of the National Honors Society, and the vice president of the National Spanish Honors Society. I also enjoy playing pickle ball, spike ball, volleyball, and hanging with friends.

I enjoy community service because of the happiness and positivity it spreads throughout the community. Seeing someone else with this excitement helps me grow as an individual and closer to God.

My personal service hour goal is to achieve 180 hours before I graduate.

My name is Will James, and I am currently a senior at Elder. I have a brother that graduated from Elder, as well as my dad and many others in my family. I am many different activities at Elder. I play volleyball, I am in the Glee Club, and I’m apart of the Hope Squad.

Community service is a great way to help bring joy to the those around you. One of our main goals as Christians is to serve our community and to help all that need it. I like to live by this because everyone deserves to feel God’s love, and one way I can share it is through service.

By the end of my senior year, I am hoping to reach close to 80-85 hours.

My name is Ben Kumpf, and I am a senior at Elder. I have a twin brother Nick who also goes to Elder. I play baseball and football for the Panthers, and I also enjoy playing golf, spike ball, water skiing, and hanging out with friends.

I enjoy community service because it gives you an opportunity to make a lasting impact on a person’s life. I also love the joy it brings me when someone you help smiles.

This is my final year at Elder, so I want to get at least 55 hours of service this year.

My name is Nick Kumpf, and I am a Senior at Elder High School. I have a twin brother named Ben who also goes to Elder, he plays baseball and football. I played soccer freshman year, wrestled junior year, and played football senior year. I am also involved with numerous clubs around campus. The main club I am involved in is The Student Ambassador Society, as I am the president. I am also involved with Student council, Panthers for Life, Ping Pong Club, and the new Elder Serves organization.

The reason why I love community service is to give back to my community. Nothing beats the smile on someone’s face after you helped them. It makes you feel like you accomplished something bigger than yourself.

Before graduation, my goal is to have 430 service hours.

Hello! My name is Nick Liderbach, and I’m a senior at Elder. I’ve spent my years here broadcasting sporting events and morning announcements with the Elder News Network, singing with the Glee Club, and performing in the spring musicals.

I’m excited to join the Service Leadership Board for my final year. My family has emphasized the importance of service my entire life, but at Elder I discovered how many opportunities I had as an individual to serve and focus solely on others. I want to show my fellow Panthers how little it costs to give a few hours of your time and have a big impact on a neighbor.

I hope to reach 192 service hours by the time I graduate.

My name is Tyler Lorenzen, I am a senior at Elder. I play football and wrestle for Elder. As well I am an active participant of the Elder Art Department and Art club.

Hi, my name is Caleb Broxterman, I am a junior at Elder High School. I come from a long line of Elder graduates, and my mom and sister attended Seton. I have played many different sports at Elder, but my favorite has been football.

I enjoy community service because it allows me to get back to others in my community. The Elder community is so strong and if I can share even 20% of that, I think I could make a difference. Because of this, I believe it is important for every student at Elder to shine this light through their community and to any that we travel to.

My personal service hour goal at Elder is 150+ hours. I plan on getting much more involved and serve during my next two years at Elder. I hope to continue to keep working to make my community better and strive for Altiora!

My name is Brody Kremm and I am a junior at Elder High School. I enjoy spending time with my dog bear, and I like to be active. I play two sports, football and lacrosse, and I like to travel.

My service goal is 200 hours by the end of this year.

My personal service hour goals are 250 hours before I graduate.

My service goal is to get to 250 hours by the time I graduate.

My name is Lincoln Edwards, and I am a sophomore at Elder. I am in the band and play for the tennis team. I have 5 sisters, one of which is a senior at Seton and the rest are younger. I love riding dirt bikes and hanging out with friends.

My name is Josh Menner, and I am a sophomore at Elder High School. I have a little brother who is in the 7th grade at St. Ignatius. I play football and volleyball for Elder along with soccer for Northwest Cincy. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and snowboarding.

I enjoy doing community service because I always love seeing the people I get to help and the smiles on their faces. I believe everyone should participate in some kind of community service because you get to help the less fortunate and get to do God’s work.

My personal service goal is to get at least 700 hours by the time I graduate from Elder.

My name is Owen Schmidt and I am a part of the class of 2027 at Elder. I have various family members before me who attended Elder including Tom Gerdes (1967), Jeff Kock (1990), and Max Schmidt (2021). Here at Elder, I play golf and basketball as well as participating in Campus Ministry.

My love of community service was born last year in one of my first community service events through Elder: the Coat Drive. The Coat Drive made me feel so good about myself. The people alongside me helping were also contributing to the great experience. Everyone was so happy to be there, and it shined through them and onto me that day. I believe more people should get involved in community service for the self-reward and for the community feeling.

My community service hour goal before I graduate high school is 400 hours.

FRESHMEN

I have a little sister who is in the 6th grade, I enjoy skiing, running, and fishing. I also plan on playing volleyball here at elder.

I enjoy participating in community service because I always love to help people that are in need, seeing their joyful faces when you have done good in their lives is an emotion you can’t feel anywhere else. Therefore, I feel everyone should get involved with community service because it allows them to help people that may be less fortunate than them and give back to the community. Community service also shows great growth in people and in my eyes is something very important to experience before they are done with high school.

My community service goal is to get 300+ hours before I graduate here at Elder.

My Name is Alexander Mazariegos Ramirez, but I go by Alex and I’m a freshman at Elder.  I am the first of my family to attend Elder High school. I have 2 younger siblings. Both attend St. Teresa Of Avila, I also went to grade school at St. Teresa of Avila.  Some of the hobbies I enjoy are playing basketball. I also enjoy watching the NBA and watching the Golden State Warriors play.  Another hobby I have is making art and playing chess.

I enjoy doing community service because it opens opportunities to doing new things, meet new people and overall, service helps those in need. In the long run doing community service can be an enjoyable thing, and even though I haven’t been doing community service for too long whenever I do, do it I always feel great helping others and doing service for others and even though you may not get paid to do it or get any rewards, it doesn’t matter because you have to be willing and want to be able to help others.

My goal for when I have finished my final 4 years at elder is to have 130 service hours

My name is Connor McCarthy and I am currently a freshman here at Elder. I have a little brother Brady in the 3rd grade that currently goes to Our Lady of Victory which is where I went to grade school. I enjoy being with friends and family, fishing, and watching sports (especially football). I am currently running cross country and plan on running track or playing volleyball.

I have been doing community service since my later time at Victory. I enjoy it for many reasons. I love to help others, and it makes me happy to see that I am making a difference in people’s lives. I like to help volunteer with my grandma at Spring Grove Cemetery where she works and we help many people see why cemeteries don’t just have to be for grieving, but they can also be a place to see the joy in life. One of the most rewarding things for me are the people who I meet along the way while doing service because a few have them I still talk to and they have become friends.

I hope at the end of my 4 years at Elder I will get more than 225 service hours.

I love being able to participate in doing community service because I enjoy helping others, and I have been doing community service for a couple years now. I often do service with my grandpa who works at The Mount, and he is my big inspiration and motivation to help others as well. Through all my service I have done I have made a couple of close friends I still talk to today.
