Elder Community Service – Letter from Co-Presidents

ESLB Co-Presidents
Nick Kumpf ’25 & Ben Kumpf ’25

A Note From Ben

Hello Elder Community,

I would like to introduce myself to you, my name is Ben Kumpf, and I am your co-president of the ESLB (Elder Service Leadership Board) alongside my twin brother Nick. I participate in football and baseball, as well as being a part of the yearbook club.   On my free time I enjoy playing spike ball, golf, water skiing and hanging out with my friends. I also work at Aston Oaks Golf Club which allows me to interact with many people. I enjoy talking to people and learning about them and how we are all different yet the same as human beings.

From a young age, I have always enjoyed community service. When we were younger, we always would go help different types of organizations to bring light into this world. As a young kid I learned to be grateful for what we have and to always help people that are less fortunate. Community service also gives you an opportunity to make a lasting impact on a person’s life and see how much joy it brings you when they smile in thanks.

My passion for community service has inspired me to run for president of ESLB.  As the co-president, I want to make sure every student is not just getting the minimum number of hours. As Elder men, we have a huge responsibility to represent Elder in the best way possible. Our goal is to make sure when others view our school, they think how we serve our community with love and care. I want to make sure we are helping to grow passion for community service in the young men of Elder. We are super excited to share our love for community service with you all. Our goal is to grow and help our community with the help of all Elder students. Make sure to follow us on Instagram @elderserves where we will be posting events to get everyone involved.

We are here to help you all “strive for the higher things” and make our community a better place. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, e25-kumpfbd@elderhs.net

Thank you!

Ben Kumpf

A Note From Nick

Hello, my name is Nick Kumpf, and I am currently a senior here at Elder High School. I am involved with a wide variety of extracurricular programs around campus. I have been a member of the Student Ambassadors Society, Student Council, Panthers for Life, and Ping Pong Club throughout my past three years at Elder. I have also participated in several sports including soccer my freshman year, wrestling my junior year, and this year I am part of the football team. The main extracurricular I engage in is the Student Ambassador Society, as I am the society’s president. I am also one of the Co- presidents for the Elder Serves Leadership Board, alongside my twin brother Ben. Outside of Elder, I enjoy fishing, golfing, working out, and hanging out with my friends.

Community service is one of my greatest passions. I find serving others incredibly important because it teaches you how to be an active participant in the community. By partaking in community service activities and projects at an early age, it paves the way for greater opportunities to serve in the future, allowing us to truly thrive as individuals. The way I see it, with community service, no matter what you are doing, you will always be making a positive impact on someone’s life. I take immense pride knowing that through whatever form of service I am completing, I am able to benefit someone in some way. When we serve others, not only do we see the direct effects it has on that person, but it also fills us as individuals with a sense of fulfillment. When you see the smile on someone’s face after you helped them, it makes you feel like you have accomplished something bigger than yourself. As Christians, we are called to serve others. We are called to be servant leaders in Christ.

The Elder Service Leadership Board (ESLB) is designed to conduct and coordinate service events. I find it very impactful when students are given the opportunity to take charge and lead their peers and this has become more prevalent in my last three years at Elder. With the ESLB, not only do students get to lead their peers, but board members are also encouraged to get more involved in their community. Giving students the opportunity and experience to be leaders, as well as cooperative members of their communities, sets them up for a successful and prosperous life even after they walk out the doors of Elder High School.

The Elder Service Leadership Board was created for people in our community, just like you. We are all here to help you and we invite you to reach out if you are in need. If you or your son have any questions about his community service hours, please feel free to contact me. I would be more than happy to collaborate with your son to help him get to where he needs to be in order to graduate Elder High School as a successful leader in his community. My email address is E25-Kumpfnd@elderhs.net so please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

Altiora!
